BBC News, Shamima Begum accepts she joined a terror group, 11 Jan 2023 "In interviews spanning more than a year, Ms Begum - who was stripped of British citizenship as a national security risk - revealed that she was fed detailed instructions by IS members, but also undertook her own planning for the journey in 2015." This is based on a BBC Sounds' podcast "The Shamima Begum Story: I am not a monster". I haven't listened to this yet.

MEMO, British Muslims boycott Prevent review over 'rigged' appointment of Friends of Israel founder

"An unprecedented coalition across the British Muslim community is opposing the British government's decision to appoint one of the founding members of the Friends of Israel Initiative to lead a review of a discredited anti-radicalisation programme. More than 450 Muslim civil society groups plus 100 leading figures have said that they will boycott the Review of the controversial Prevent policy to be headed by William Shawcross, whose appointment has been called "rigged" by one of the contenders for the post, a former leading prosecutor."

Not the most informed appointment for such a sensitive subject.

Guardian, Priti Patel’s plan to tackle radicalised youth is so flawed it’s mad, says study, "Rather than rolling out more draconian measures to contain “risk”, the Youth Empowerment and Innovation Project, part funded by the Home Office, found that offering encouragement to youngsters and addressing factors such as social exclusion was a better way to mitigate violent youth radicalisation."
